We’re joined by leading figures in the skeptic community — Adrienne Hill, Kenny Biddle, and Kat McLeod — who will explore the myths and mysteries surrounding the Winchester House and a reported haunting in Room 202 at Winnipeg’s Fort Garry Hotel. As well, I'll give my annual Student Psychology Network Halloween talk. This year it's on why people love to be scared, what happens in the brain during a fright, and how psychology helps explain the thrill of haunted houses.
Come for the science, stay for the scares.

YOU HAD ME UNTIL SLIDE TWO: THE ART AND SCIENCE OF BETTER PRESENTATIONS
Thursday, October 23 | 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM | Room 7-265, MacEwan University

We’ve all sat through talks where the lights dim, the slides fill with text, and the audience quietly checks their email. It doesn’t have to be that way.
This workshop will show you how to give talks and create posters that people actually want to pay attention to. We’ll cover how to distill complex research into clear, memorable messages, use visuals that work, and shape your presentation around a story worth telling.
